Introducing the READY Framework
The READY Framework is PRIDAN’s structured approach to practical safety, preparedness, and responsible decision-making. It helps participants understand what to consider before, during, and after a difficult or uncertain situation.
Rather than treating awareness, preparation, protection, response, and judgment as separate subjects, READY connects them into one practical training pathway:
- READY to Avoid — Recognize concerns early, create distance, and reduce unnecessary risk.
- READY to Prepare — Build practical plans for everyday life and potential emergencies.
- READY to Protect — Develop the knowledge, responsibility, and judgment associated with personal protection.
- READY to Respond — Identify priorities, communicate clearly, and take responsible action during and after an emergency.
- READY to Decide — Apply the framework through guided scenarios that strengthen judgment, restraint, and decision-making.
Begin With a READY Brief
You do not have to begin with a full course to take a meaningful step toward greater awareness and preparedness.
READY Briefs are focused introductions drawn from the core concepts of the broader READY Pathway. Participants can begin with the topic most relevant to their needs and progress into deeper training when appropriate.
Each brief focuses on one practical area and is designed to help participants:
- Better understand the topic
- Identify personal or household considerations
- Learn key principles and common mistakes
- Ask questions in a supportive environment
- Determine whether additional training is right for them
No previous training or experience is required. Start with one topic. Build from there.
Why Start With a READY Brief?
A READY Brief may be right for you when you:
- Are interested in a topic but are not ready for a full course
- Want to experience the PRIDAN READY training approach
- Need a practical introduction without feeling overwhelmed
- Want to include a spouse, family member, team, or community group
- Are unsure which READY course best fits your needs
- Want to begin with a focused area of personal concern
A single brief can stand on its own or serve as the first step toward more complete training.
Continue Through the READY Pathway
Participants who want to continue developing their knowledge and skills can move from a READY Brief into one of our full courses.
READY to Avoid
Develop greater awareness, recognize developing concerns, create distance, identify exits, and make safer decisions before a situation escalates.
READY to Prepare
Build practical plans for your home, travel, vehicle, family communication, digital awareness, and emergency readiness.
READY to Protect
Learn the safety, responsibility, legal awareness, and judgment associated with firearm ownership and licensing.
READY to Respond
Understand how to remain calm, identify immediate priorities, communicate clearly, contact emergency services, and respond responsibly during and after an emergency.
READY to Decide
Apply the READY framework through guided scenarios and decision points focused on judgment, restraint, communication, and responsible action.
Your Starting Point Is Personal
Some people begin with situational awareness. Others are more concerned about home preparedness, personal safety, emergency response, or responsible firearm ownership.
There is no single starting point for everyone.
The goal is to begin with the subject that is most relevant to your life and continue at a pace that supports responsible progress.
You do not need to know everything before you begin. You only need to take the first step.
